BERNINA overlocker machines are still the most reliable and easy to use machine with an affordable price tag to match. The L460 and L450 overlocker are faithful friends to the sewing enthusiast as they deliver a lovely rolled hem and 3 and 4 overlocker without fuss. These two Berninas are the go to overlockers for the every day user right through to wedding dress stores and alteration shops who need a back up for their industrial machines. The tensions are not sensitive, the thread path is accessible and easy to thread, and the stitch... divine. These machines are made with quality metal, so loopers are strong and cutting blades have a long life.
The L460 features 2 x strong LED lights, mtc (Micro Thread Control - simply put, allows micro adjustments to the over-the-edge thread loops - it means you don't have to fiddle with tensions to get things just right!), easy threading with an automatic lower looper threader; this machine is smooth! The L460 has the added feature of the FHS (free hand system) which allows both hands to be on deck through the use of a knee control lift - the presser foot lifts and the feed dogs drop so you can re-position the fabric while all 8 fingers stay on the fabric. This little gem also comes with the famous Bernina needle up/down function on your foot control. PLUS, extension table is also comes with the L460 - so good!

With the BERNINA Free Hand System (FHS) you can raise and lower the presser foot with your knee. This noticeably improves clearance under the presser foot, which in turn facilitates fabric handling. You will save time and achieve perfect results!
The BERNINA Foot Control and DC motor allow a top speed of up to 1,500 stitches per minute but also stitch by stitch sewing. This makes it easy to work with delicate or heavy fabrics that require extra care in handling. The needle automatically stops in the up position, but can be put on the down position by pressing down on the foot control with your heel - genius!
The slide-on table extends the sewing area to the left of the needle. It allows large fabrics to be guided more easily and gives a better overview onto the sewing project.
The patended mtc (Micro Thread Control) saves you significant time and effort while ensuring consistent high-quality stitches, since you need only set thread tension once – even if you alter the cutting width and fabric thickness! The mtc fine tunes over edge threads and allows you to sew up to 9mm wide
A manual needle threader allows for easy and ergonomic threading. The color coded threading paths as well as the lower looper threader support your quick threading. The left hand side of the overlocker can still open up , even if the extension table is attached so if needed you can have a look inside the threading area.
With the well-lit grand workspace of the L 460 eases sewing as well as threading of loopers and needles. The 2 LED lights faciliate precise and accurate work.
The most commonly used accessories are located in the looper cover, neatly arranged and ready to be used. The additional accessory box holds the seam guide, spool caps and tools. A range of optional feet for your creative overlocking is available.
